Rowan County player wins $1.86 million digital instant jackpot

A lucky lottery player from Cleveland won a $1.86 million digital instant jackpot on Saturday.

The winner played the Monopoly game for $1 and instantly won the game’s top jackpot. The odds of that win are 1 in 50 million.

The big $1.86 million win represents the second digital instant jackpot of at least $1.6 million won in North Carolina in the last week. A Rockingham County player won a $1.69 million jackpot on Thursday.

Monopoly has a progressive jackpot that continues to grow until it is won. After Saturday’s big win, the jackpot reset at $150,000 and has climbed to over $228,000 as of Monday morning.

Monopoly is one of 55 games that can be played online in North Carolina as part of the lottery’s digital instant games.

The winner has 180 days to claim the prize.

Hi, Tancy! Each time you play Digital Instants, the system randomly generates an outcome from the full deck of outcomes. The odds of winning the jackpot are based on the number of possible outcomes of each play.

Hi NCEL! I purchased a few double play tickets but was not notified my entry went into a second chance drawing. I also dont see any second chance drawing on the app any where but i do see the banner on the home screen.NC Lottery
Hi, Michael! The Double Play add-on for Powerball gives you another chance to win up to $10 million in a 2nd Powerball drawing that occurs after the first drawing. There is not a dedicated second chance drawing for Powerball at the moment, but rather this add-on gives you a chance to win in a second Powerball drawing.
