Winston-Salem man celebrates $250,000 top prize win

Quaylec Icard of Winston-Salem tried his luck on a $5 scratch-off and won a $250,000 top prize.

Icard bought his lucky 20X The Cash ticket from Fairgrove Food Shop on Fairgrove Church Road in Conover.

He arrived at lottery headquarters Monday to claim his prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $179,376.

The 20X The Cash game debuted in February with eight $250,000 top prizes. Three $250,000 prizes remain to be claimed.

NCEL drop some decent numbers and trips. NCEL drop all the numbers in the predraws that is why we are getting all these numbers very few people are playing. Trips 999, 888, 444, 333 are long overdue pdriod.

good deal ! curious ncel...why do ya'll not show the release date on games ending? sure hate to see many games with good odds and top prizes left end before someone has a chance to really win a top prize on it...happens a lot here. we would like to see how long the game has been out once it's ending. Some I know don't stay out but for about a year then get pulled ( with top prizes left) others will stay out for a couple years or more with ZERO top prizes left. Just hope people take the time to look at the odds before they buy. NC Lottery
