Guadalupe Lucas Jr. of Winston-Salem took a chance on a $30 scratch-off and won a $100,000 prize.
Lucas bought his lucky Millionaire Bucks ticket from Marymar Supermarket on Waughtown Street in Winston-Salem.
Lucas arrived at lottery headquarters Wednesday to claim his prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $71,758.
He says he plans to use his prize to invest in his construction business.
The Millionaire Bucks game debuted in October 2024 with four $5 million top prizes and 10 $100,000 prizes. Three $5 million prizes and five $100,000 prizes remain to be claimed.
