The Powerball® holiday jackpot streak continues! No ticket matched all six numbers in Saturday’s drawing, sending the jackpot soaring to an estimated $1.60 billion for Monday night.
If you won, you could claim the jackpot as $1.6 billion annuity or $735.3 million in cash. You would win the fourth largest Powerball jackpot and fifth largest among U.S. lottery jackpots.
Saturday night marked nine straight Powerball drawings with North Carolinians winning prizes of at least $50,000 and seven straight with at least a $100,000 winner.
Three $3 Power Play tickets matched four of the white balls and the red Powerball to win $50,000,and their prize tripled to $150,000 when the 3x multiplier was drawn. Two $2 tickets matched the four white balls and the red Powerball to win $50,000. The odds of matching four white balls and the red Powerball are 1 in 913,129.
The lucky Power Play tickets were purchased across the state at:
- Harris Teeter on South Tryon Street in Charlotte
- Gates Food Mart on N.C. 158 West in Gatesville
- 7 Eleven on Caratoke Highway in Moyock
The $50,000 prizes were won with tickets purchased in Wilson and Charlotte.
Monday’s drawing, the 46th in the jackpot run, sets a new record for most consecutive drawings in a jackpot cycle. The $1.6 billion prize is the second-largest Powerball jackpot this year, trailing only the $1.7 billion jackpot won Sept. 6 in Missouri and Texas.
