Raleigh man collects $100,000 second-chance win

Robert Jensen of Raleigh tried his luck in a second-chance drawing and won a $100,000 prize.

Jensen found out he won his prize in the first of four $8 Million Money Maker Second Chance drawings when he got a notification from the lottery. There were 979,465 total entries in the drawing.

He arrived at lottery headquarters Monday to collect his prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $71,750.

Players get a second chance with their $8 Million Money Maker scratch-offs by scanning them into their lottery accounts where they are automatically entered into the drawing. The drawing had one top prize of $1 million, three $100,000 prizes, 10 $25,000 winners and 50 winners of $500.

To date I'm been in 19,660 second chance drawings, one contest I had 5665 entrys...I strongly believe it's who u knowNC Lottery
It definitely takes a lot of luck to be a winner in any of our drawings! We can receive millions of entries into our second chance drawings, but sometimes it only takes one lucky entry to be a winner. We're crossing our fingers for you and wishing you lots of luck in the future, William!

It definitely takes a lot of luck to be a winner! In our second chance and Lucke-Rewards drawings, we can receive millions of entries. Each entry is assigned a numerical value and a Random Number Generator (RNG) randomly selects the winning entries. Every entry, regardless of who it belongs to or where that player is from, has the same odds of being randomly selected to win. And while having more entries increases your odds of being a winner, sometimes it only takes one lucky entry to win!

I understand there can be technical problems with your equipment, but it should have been fixed by now. I have tried multiple times to enter my tickets and receive my points, but I have no success, I even check to see if tickets entered show up and they don't. I am glad I haven't chosen to purchase online games, for I would hate to think my money has been spent and I can't even play the games. I believe the people that play the lottery should be treated better, hire someone that can fix the equipment properly.

First a teacher from Raleigh/Wake County won 1 million dollars in the 2nd chance drawing and now another Raleigh man has won $100,000 in the same drawing. This State has 100 counties yet the first 2 winners just happen to be from Raleigh? If this doesn't convince anyone the lottery is biased towards Wake County then nothing will.NC Lottery
Hi, Charles! Over time, we may see more winners in areas with larger populations. That doesn't mean it's easier to win in those areas, but simply that there are more folks taking a chance there, and over time we'll see a larger number of both winners and non-winners. No matter where you play, your odds of winning are the same - it just takes a lot of luck.
