Mega Millions and Powerball players in North Carolina can try their luck this week on jackpots totaling $805 million.
A Powerball winner tonight would have the choice of taking home the $461 million jackpot as an annuity or $217.2 million in cash.
A Mega Millions winner on Tuesday would have the choice of taking home the $344 million jackpot as an annuity or $161.5 million in cash.
Even though the jackpots remain up for grabs, North Carolina players keep winning other big prizes playing both games:
- One lucky $2 ticket in Saturday’s Powerball drawing won $50,000. The ticket came from Sunrise Groceries on West 3rd Street in Siler City.
- Two lucky $2 tickets in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing won $10,000. The tickets came from the Food Lion on Broad Street in Fuquay-Varina and the Harris Teeter on Matthews Township Parkway in Matthews.
Players can buy Mega Millions and Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com, or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.
The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302 million. The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.
