Craven County man enjoys $150,000 lottery win

Donald Booth of Cove City tried his luck on a $5 scratch-off on Monday and won a $150,000 top prize.

Booth purchased his lucky Xtreme Cashword ticket from Cove City Express on East Sunset Boulevard in Cove City.

He collected his prize at lottery headquarters Thursday and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $107,626.

The Xtreme Cashword game debuted in October with six $150,000 top prizes. Three $150,000 prizes remain to be claimed.

Hi, Shirley! We definitely hope to bring our Double Draw promotion for Pick 3 back in the future, but we don't have a set month for when this will be happening. Stay tuned for more info on that and other fun promotions in the future. As for your question regarding trips - Fireball adds another number, so there are more chances to see 3 of the same number drawn. However, every combination has the same odds of being drawn in each drawing!
