Union County man bags $100,000 digital instant win

Alex Dawood of Marvin tried his luck on a digital instant game on Saturday and won a $100,000 prize.

He won his big prize on a lucky $20 play playing The Lamp. The odds of that win are 1 in 1,000,000.

Dawood claimed his prize at lottery headquarters Thursday in Raleigh. After required federal and state tax withholdings, he took home $71,756.

In The Lamp, a player can play from 50 cents to $30. The top prize that can be won is $150,000.

Digital instant games are played exclusively online on the lottery’s website or on the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. Forty-three different games are available to play online now.

NCEL, you have no retort for why you allow more than one second chance drawing entry. Because it is all about deceiving the public wth your crooked, rigged games. You have no 2 step verification process even though you have your players debit card numbers. You poll all the big drawing games with your "random number generator" computer prior to the drawing.
