Orange County man collects $512,111 Cash 5 jackpot

Daniel Allison of Hillsborough took a chance on a $1 Cash 5 ticket and won a $512,111 jackpot.

Allison bought his lucky ticket in the June 17 drawing using Online Play. His ticket matched all five numbers to win the jackpot. The odds of matching all five balls are 1 in 962,598.

He claimed his prize at lottery headquarters Tuesday and, after required federal and state tax withholdings, took home $367,448.

Cash 5 is one of six lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option of buying their tickets at a retail location or with Online Play through the lottery’s website or the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. Tuesday’s jackpot is $182,000.

Congratulations. NCEL needs a comment/opinion page. I was looking at the winning page for cash 5. I didn't see any winner for May. OH remember when the winners were listed in excel format. Now the winners are listed in a very large box with the logo above. And I can't understand when 2 winners are on the same ticket why they put 2 winner boxes out.NC Lottery
