Lottery players in North Carolina can go after the biggest Powerball jackpot this year on Saturday with a $565 million prize up for grabs.
A winner could claim the jackpot as a $565 million annuity or $258.8 million in cash.
Saturday’s jackpot weighs in as the largest that could be won since the April 6, 2024 Powerball drawing when an Oregon man won a $1.3 billion jackpot.
While players keep trying for the jackpot, one lucky ticket in North Carolina matched four white balls and the red Powerball to win $50,000 in Wednesday’s drawing. The ticket came from Online Play in Henderson.
Check out how North Carolinians win when they play Powerball:
- 26,150: That’s the total number of winning tickets in Wednesday’s Powerball drawing
- $10.3 million: That’s the estimate of how much money has been raised for education during the current Powerball run
Players can buy Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location, through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com, or from the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.
