Get ready for Powerball Double Play

Powerball players in North Carolina have double the reasons to play Powerball now with the introduction of Powerball Double Play.

Double Play is an exciting new feature that gives you a second chance to win cash prizes of up to $10 million. That means you can win prizes in both the regular Powerball drawing and the Double Play drawing, which immediately follows the Powerball drawing.

The new optional feature costs just $1 per play. You use your same numbers from the Powerball drawing in the Double Play drawing. The Double Play drawing occurs just after the Powerball drawing.

Just ask the clerk at your favorite store to add Double Play to your ticket or select the Double Play option on a lottery vending machine, on our website, or in the lottery app.

Keep in mind that Double Play is only available as an add-on to a standard Powerball ticket. So if you buy a $2 standard ticket, the cost would be $3 total to add Double Play.

Double Play will officially debut during the Monday night Powerball drawing on Oct. 6. Spread the word and start getting excited about doubling your chances to win big.

Powerball is honestly most likely the best chance you have to win if you’re in North Carolina, seems Mega never really pays off much although 2 won 1m prizes but the jack pot was 2 B . Will Powerball Double Play have the same amount of numbers/odds as regular Powerball?NC Lottery
Hi, Byron! Powerball Double Play will play your same numbers again, just in a separate drawing - giving you another chance to win. The odds and numbers are the same as the standard Powerball drawing, and the numbers you play in that standard drawing will be your same numbers for the Double Play draw.

Since Mega Millions had gone up to $5 per draw ticket, I knew their competitor Powerball would figure out a way to try and bilk an extra dollar from the unsuspecting public. Rigged games with alternate motives.

The double play feature is nice as an option, but don’t find myself playing it often outside of say a lottery pool. The odds are stacked and rarely hear of many big winners in a year period. Prefer to just do my regular Powerball and powerplay.
