Mega Millions jackpot climbs to $423 million

The Mega Millions jackpot keeps growing higher as it reached $423 million for Friday’s drawing.

A winner tonight would have the choice of taking home the $423 million jackpot as an annuity or $196.5 million in cash.

Even though the jackpot remains up for grabs, players are taking home lots of other prizes playing Mega Millions. Tuesday’s drawing produced more than 9,700 winning tickets in North Carolina.

The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 290 million.

Players can buy Mega Millions tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com, or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.

Hi Cynthia, if you purchased a game online you will automatically receive your points and be entered into any valid 2nd Chance drawings for that game. Current promotions are shown on the Lucke-Rewards Draws screen at https://nclottery.com/rewards/rewards-drawing, along with the number of points per entry. In your dashboard, you will be able to see your points and your entries. You can redeem points for as many drawing entries as you want!

Mega Millions went up from $2 to $5 a draw months ago. That's more than double. Yet, the jackpot grows about the same as in the past. Lottery folks are "taxation without representation". Shame on all of you that perpetrate fraud in the name of charity.
