Choo Yeng of Elizabeth City took a chance on a $30 scratch-off and won a $100,000 top prize.
Yeng bought his lucky $100,000 Cash Payday scratch-off from 7-Eleven on Patrick Way in Elizabeth City.
He arrived at lottery headquarters Tuesday to claim his prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $72,018.
The $100,000 Cash Payday game debuted in March with 80 $100,000 top prizes. Fifty-two $100,000 prizes remain to be claimed.
