March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month

The lottery offers fun games to raise money for education in North Carolina and, at the same time, helps players keep their play healthy and fun.

With that goal in mind, each March, we partner with the National Council on Problem Gambling to raise awareness of the resources available to support someone who might show signs of problem gambling.

If you enjoy playing the lottery, what are the warning signs that it could be time for a break?

“Chasing” losses and trying to break even
Going without basic needs to buy lottery tickets
A preoccupation with lottery games
A need for more money to play lottery games more frequently
Restlessness or irritability when you try to stop playing.

Most people enjoy lottery games without an issue. If playing the lottery ever starts to feel like more than a game, with only a click or a text, you can access free and confidential help 24/7

You won't print this, most of the winners are in Eastern NC., many are in the Raleigh Area. Just look at the data. Also secondary prizes are really small as compared to other States. Hi Edward, anywhere there are more chances being taken to win—for example Raleigh or Charlotte—the odds will play out more often there over time. You'll have a larger volume of both winning and non-winning tickets in proportion with the odds. That has no effect on the likelihood of a particular ticket winning or not winning a prize, whether it be in a big city or a small town. It has to be that way in order for the lottery to be fair to everyone.

i found my answer. What is Usually Disclosed Number of Winners: Reputable state lotteries will list how many winning tickets were sold for each prize tier. Payout Amounts: The prize structure shows the prize amount for straight vs. box/combo. In conclusion, while a lottery has the right to manage its liabilities and might temporarily hold back specific, detailed winner data during an investigation, the total number of winners for straight, combo, and "any" (box) plays is typically made public as part of the official, verified draw results.
