Asheville man wins $2 million top prize

Robert Jackson of Asheville tried his luck on a $20 scratch-off and won a $2 million top prize.

Jackson bought his lucky 100X The Cash ticket from the Food Lion on Smokey Park Highway in Candler. He works at the store and bought the ticket while on a break.

When Jackson arrived to claim his prize, he had a decision to make. He could choose to receive the prize as an annuity of $100,000 over 20 years or a lump sum of $1.2 million. He chose the annuity option and, after required tax withholdings, took home $72,016 on his first $100,000 payment.

The 100X The Cash game debuted in January 2025 with four $2 million top prizes and six $100,000 prizes. One $2 million prize and one $100,000 prize remain to be claimed.
