Telly Jordan of Castalia thought he wasn’t seeing clearly after he won a $150,000 digital instant jackpot on Tuesday.
“I had to change my glasses,” he laughed.
Jordan won his big prize playing Big Crush Multiplier. In the game, a player can play from 50 cents to $30. Jordan played $30 to win the $150,000 top prize. The odds of that win are 1 in 1 million.
“It was overwhelming,” he said. “Just unbelievable.”
Jordan said he and his wife “couldn’t go to sleep” after he won.
He claimed his winnings at lottery headquarters Thursday in Raleigh. After required federal and state tax withholdings, Jordan took home $108,023.
He plans to use the money to pay bills and possibly take a vacation with his wife to Hawaii.
Digital instant games are played exclusively online on the lottery’s website or on the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. Sixty-seven different games are available to play online now.
