Fayetteville woman celebrates $100,000 scratch-off win

Maehelen Gray of Fayetteville tried her luck on a $30 scratch-off and won a $100,000 top prize.

Gray bought her lucky $100,000 Cash Payday ticket from Ramsey 24 Food Mart on Ramsey Street in Fayetteville.

She arrived at lottery headquarters Wednesday to claim her prize and after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $72,018.

The $100,000 Cash Payday game debuted in March with 80 $100,000 top prizes. Seventy-one $100,000 prizes remain to be claimed.

NCEL, $30-$50 per scratch off ticket is too much for most working folks. $100,000 isn't even lifetime money for younger people. If people are retirees, they can throw their money away if they wish on your rigged games. Shame on you NCEL for trying to bait the public with 71 top prizes remaining. You'll drag it out like you've done all the other scratch off games to bilk the public for every last dime you can get.
