Each week in the school year, the face and story of a beloved educator appears on FOX8 WGHP-TV. The Triad-based educators are nominated by their students, colleagues, and parents to be featured as an “Educator of the Week.” On Wednesday, the North Carolina Education Lottery helped to recognize these exceptional teachers and their administrators at an annual luncheon hosted at the television station in High Point.
The end-of-year celebration awards the standout teachers with crystal apples and certificates to mark their achievement. Guests are welcomed into the studio for a behind-the-scenes look with longtime anchor and host of "What's Right With Our Schools," Cindy Farmer. Each guest of honor also had a chance to win gift cards in a live lottery draw game.
The N.C. Education Lottery is the proud sponsor of the FOX8 Educator of the Week program and similar programs around the state including “Thanks to Teachers” at WLOS-TV in Asheville and “Teacher of the Week” at WITN-TV in Greenville and WRAL in Raleigh.
Congratulations to our honorees and thank you for moving our students forward in your classrooms and beyond.
