Ruth O’Neal Allen of Cary took a chance on a $30 scratch-off and won a $100,000 top prize.
Allen bought her lucky $100,000 Cash Payday ticket from Trinity Park Family Fare on West Main Street in Durham.
She arrived at lottery headquarters Thursday to claim her prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $72,018.
The $100,000 Cash Payday game debuted in March with 80 $100,000 top prizes. Sixty-six $100,000 prizes remain to be claimed.
