Kyle Oxendine of Rowland thought first of his children after a $5 scratch-off won him a $200,000 top prize.
“My kids are the most important thing to me and I’m going to take care of them,” he said.
Oxendine, a father of five, bought his lucky MONOPOLY® ticket from Lucky 7 #4 on East Main Street in Rowland.
“I was planning to take a nap but I couldn’t take a nap after seeing that,” Oxendine laughed.
He arrived at lottery headquarters Tuesday to claim his prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $144,021.
Oxendine plans to use his winnings to take care of his children and take them on a family vacation.
The $5 MONOPOLY® game debuted in November with five $200,000 top prizes. Two $200,000 prizes remain to be claimed.
