Mega Millions jackpot tops $400 million while Powerball also keeps climbing

Lottery players in North Carolina have millions of reasons to get excited this weekend with Mega Millions and Powerball combining to offer well over half a billion dollars in jackpots.

A winner in tonight’s Mega Millions drawing would have the choice of taking home the $413 million jackpot as an annuity or $182.6 million in cash.

A winner in Saturday’s Powerball drawing would have the choice of taking home the $258 million jackpot as an annuity or $115 million in cash.

While both jackpots continue to climb, players are taking home other nice prizes. Wednesday’s Powerball drawing saw a lucky North Carolinian match four white balls and the red Powerball to win $50,000. The prize doubled to $100,000 when the 2X multiplier came up. The lucky $3 Power Play ticket came from the QuikTrip on West W.T. Harris Boulevard in Charlotte.

The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 290 million. The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.

Players can buy Mega Millions or Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com, or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.

That's exactly what they're doing. Lottery numbers digital games everything seems like a scam. I can count the number of people in my city who've won anything life changing on one hand with missing fingers. They advertise 1 mill 2mill 5 mill jackpots but the state takes more of your winnings than you. Schools do not change or upgrade with all of the money that the state takes. Who's really the only ones profiting. I've been playing for years and haven't won anythingNC Lottery
