Greensboro woman scores $186,991 jackpot on new Digital Instant game

Chrystal Alston of Greensboro tried her luck on a $0.50 Digital Instant play on Monday and won a 186,991 jackpot.

Alston won the top level “Gold” jackpot in the Banker’s Vault game. The Digital Instant game features a progressive jackpot that can be won at any time. The odds of that win were 1 in 80 million.

She claimed her prize Wednesday at lottery headquarters and, after required federal and state tax withholdings, took home $134,653.

In the Banker’s Vault digital instant game, a player can play from 50 cents to $5. Players can also place a side bet that adds to the total cost of the ticket. After Alston won the jackpot Monday, it restarted at $80,000 and has grown to over $93,000 as of Thursday morning.

Digital Instant games are played exclusively online on the lottery’s website or on the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. Seventy-six different games are available to play online now.

I am so glad I am not the only one who has noticed everything you said...I been playing the NCEL since day one and went through a lot of money doing so and have never WON anything worth talking about! When I have played Digital Instant games seems like you get all the bells and whistles for a while then nothing and I mean nothing....go through money like it grows on trees. This not complaining this is just stating the FACTS!

NCEL explain how you have a daily limit and then when I purchase that amount then when I play the digital instant game on 5 dollar plays I didn’t even get a bonus? Your games or system needs to be updated or investigated! Cause that’s not good business and my biggest win was only twelve dollars smh that’s unfair and I played the Big Foot game which has daily winners and I didn’t even get a chance to become a winner cause of no bonus and can’t even play again till the next day bs Not Fair NC Lottery

I definitely don't believe that these people spend only 50 cents and win the jackpot. I can spend 300 hundred and up and win absolutely nothing. If you happen to get a good amount for a few dollars you can literally press play 100 times and win nothing. Playing for 50 cents you win 5 cents 10 cents 20 cents 50 cents and maybe a dollar ever so often. Its ridiculous and sounds impossible to spend only 50cents and win the jackpot. Does anyone know her to confirm that this really happened

Congrats to you Ms. Alston! But, has anyone else noticed how extremely difficult it has become to win even small prizes!? It seems the algorithm is changed periodically and each time reduces possibility to win. Each time, fewer multipliers ....and if you see one in the first drop, it is the kiss of death, nothing! Fewer so called Big crushes...more like no or minimal "crushes." Geezzzz...making it impossible to play NCLC!
