Concord man celebrates $100,000 top prize win

Antonio Mancino of Concord tried his luck on a $30 scratch-off and won a $100,000 top prize.

Mancino bought his lucky $100,000 Cash Payday scratch-off from the Harris Teeter on Brookdale Drive in Charlotte.

He arrived at lottery headquarters Tuesday to claim his prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $72,018.

The $100,000 Cash Payday game debuted in March with 80 $100,000 top prizes. Sixty-four $100,000 prizes remain to be claimed.

for the complainers out there: NOBODY twists your arm to play here..if you blow too much $ shame on you. Once learned, twice burned. All this is a game of CHANCE. Odds are you WILL lose rather than win, odds are NOT in your favor...ever. Play only for fun and within your means.

Who in the middle to lower classes can afford $30 for a scratch off ticket with the economy failing? NCEL, it doesn't matter if you spread more top prizes over a larger group if those people are risking their livelihood to play your rigged games. The best part is that NCEL doesn't have to pay out a multi million prize to one sole winner so they win either way. NCEL, shame to you and your colleagues in business and government that lead society astray down the darkest path for our future.

Hey LZ. I'm not getting my bonus points/entries in the race to riches lucky rewards contest. It states for every 5 entries per day you are to receive 1 extra entry. I have entered 90 entries in the past 4 days and only have 90 entries. Shouldn't I have received an additional 18 entries ?NC Lottery

For every 5 entries into the drawing, players receive 25 Lucke-Rewards points back in their account: the cost of an entry, but these points can be used for the Race to Riches drawing or different drawings. There is a max of 5 bonus entries (125 Lucke-Rewards points) back per day.

Wow, I know it is just a coincidence, but it looks like a lot of top prizes for this ticket end up at Harris Teeter. Somebody in Burlington also got a top prize, and he got the same ticket at our local Harris Teeter.
