Mega Millions and Powerball players in North Carolina can celebrate the 4th of July early this week by trying their luck on two jackpots that total nearly $900 million.
A winner in tonight’s Mega Millions drawing would have the choice of taking home the $511 million jackpot as an annuity or $231 million in cash.
A winner in Wednesday’s Powerball drawing would have the choice of taking home the $375 million jackpot as an annuity or $170.6 million in cash.
Even though both jackpots are still on a roll, players are taking home lots of other prizes playing Mega Millions and Powerball. Friday’s Mega Millions drawing produced over 8,600 winning tickets in North Carolina. Monday’s Powerball drawing saw almost 14,000 winning tickets.
The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 290 million. The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.
