The Powerball jackpot shows no signs of slowing down as Monday’s $905 million prize ranks as the eighth largest in the game’s history.
A winner in tonight’s drawing would have the choice of taking home the $905 million jackpot as an annuity or $391.9 million in cash.
The current Powerball run has raised over an estimated $16.7 million for education in North Carolina.
As the jackpot continues to grow, North Carolinians are taking home other nice prizes too. For the fourth consecutive drawing, a ticket in North Carolina won at least $50,000. Saturday’s Powerball drawing saw two big wins for North Carolinians:
- A lucky $2 ticket matched four white balls and the Powerball to win a $50,000 prize. The winning ticket came from Carlton’s Tanglewood on Clemmons Road in Clemmons.
- Another lucky $2 ticket matched four white balls and the Powerball to win a $50,000 prize. That winning ticket came from the Food Lion on Poplar Tent Road in Concord.
The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.
Players can buy Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com, or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.
