Kerolos Makram of Louisburg took a chance on a $10 scratch-off and won a $1 million top prize.
Makram bought his lucky LOTERIA™ MULTIPLIER ticket from Marco’s Mini Mart on N.C. 561 in Louisburg.
When Makram arrived at lottery headquarters Tuesday, he had a decision to make. He could choose to receive the prize as an annuity of $50,000 over 20 years or a lump sum of $600,000. Makram chose the lump sum of $600,000 and, after required tax withholdings, he took home $432,063.
The LOTERIA™ MULTIPLIER game debuted in March with four top prizes of $1 million. One $1 million prize remains to be claimed.
