It was Timothy Winstead’s lucky day when the Wilmington man played the $100,000 Cash Payday scratch-off game and won the $100,000 top prize.
Winstead bought his winning $30 ticket from the Scotchman on Wrightsville Avenue in Wilmington.
He arrived to claim the prize on Wednesday. After required state and federal tax withholdings, Winstead took home $72,018.
The $100,000 Cash Payday game debuted in March, with 80 top prizes. Now, 56 of the $100,000 top prizes still remain. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 76,752.
