Troywanee Davis of Fayetteville had only just gotten familiar with the lottery when she won a $325,758 jackpot playing the Pantheon of Olympus: Tides Digital Instant game on Aug. 18.
“I’m thrilled,” she exclaimed.
Davis’ mother introduced her to the lottery at the beginning of August, showing her the ropes and teaching her how to play.It was Davis’ first time playing this game when she won.
“I was at a loss for words,” she recalled. “We just got lucky I guess.”
She won the jackpot on a $30 play. The odds of that happening are 1 in 2.1 million.
“It’s unbelievable, it’s surreal,” she said.
Davis arrived at the lottery headquarters on Monday to claim her prize. After state and federal tax withholdings, she took home $234,587.
She plans to split the winnings with her mom as a thank you for introducing her to the lottery. Davis will use her winnings to invest and put money towards a cosmetology business. She said her mom would likely use the money to shop and help people around her.
Pantheon of Olympus: Tides is a progressive jackpot game that debuted in August. The jackpot currently sits at over $282,000.
