Charles Collier III of Charlotte tried his luck on a $5 Fast Play ticket and won a $126,722 lottery prize.
The two big wins occurred in the Saturday night Lucky for Life drawing.
The jackpot has been growing since the Oct. 4 drawing when a ticket purchased on California won $699.8 million.
He was the second winner of the top prize in the Holiday Cheer scratch-off game.
He was having a hard time believing that a stop for gas and the purchase of a $5 scratch-off resulted in a $150,000 prize.
He became the third North Carolinian to win that prize in the Lucky for Life game in the last four weeks.
He tried his luck on a scratch-off ticket and won a $100,000 prize.
They were the first two winners in a Bigger Spin Live event.
He won his prize on a $25 Extreme Cash ticket.
He multiplied his cash to $250,000 with one $5 scratch-off ticket.
