A Gaston County couple, Larry and Peggy Lineberger, are the first to win the $100,000 top prize in one of the Education Lottery's holiday games, $100,000 Treasure Tree. As of Wednesday, four more top prizes remain to be claimed.

Gaston County resident Robert Coburn plans to use the $500,000 he won playing the N.C. Education Lottery’s $500,000 Jackpot game to pay off his mortgage and add to his retirement savings. He scratched the winning ticket at home in Mount Holly on Friday.
