Cash 5 jackpot climbs to highest in game history: An estimated $2.1 million!

The Carolina Cash 5 jackpot has rolled into record territory.

If only one ticket matches all five numbers in Monday’s drawing, the $2.1 million prize would mark the largest Cash 5 jackpot ever awarded to a single winner.

The jackpot also marks the first time a Cash 5 jackpot estimate has reached over $2 million!

The last time Cash 5 players had the chance to win a jackpot this big was on June 3, 2017, when a $1.7 million jackpot was won.

The current jackpot run started April 4.

Carolina Cash 5 tickets are $1 and drawings are held every night. The odds of winning a Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 962,598.

Cash 5 is one of four lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option of buying their tickets through Online Play on the lottery’s website or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.

Hi DL, good morning! Two players split the jackpot in last night's Cash 5 drawing. Both winners bought their tickets in Charlotte. One was from Circle K on John J Delaney Dr. and the other from Circle K on University Blvd.

The main difference is that wins under $600 will be automatically deposited into your account, while email notifications for bigger wins will contain instructions on how to claim your prize. For security purposes, we will not state the winning amount in the email. The amount will be displayed in your account in the Message Center. Thanks for the great question!

I know that as a general rule, if someone wins at least $1 million, they have to choose between annual installments over a 20 year period or a reduced lump sum. Does this apply to Cash 5 jackpots that grew over $1 million?NC Lottery
