How to Qualify

To qualify, purchase a $5 or more single Carolina Cash 5 ticket between 5:00 a.m. Wednesday November 1 thru 2:00 am Friday December 1, 2023 at your local retailer.

The ENTRY ticket has a 7-digit number which is automatically entered in the next Cash 5 Bonus Cash Drawing. If your 7-digit number is selected, you win. Make sure to RETAIN THE ENTRY TICKET. It must be presented to a lottery retailer or NC Lottery Claim Center when claiming your Cash 5 Bonus Cash Drawing prize.

The North Carolina Education Lottery will conduct four (4) separate weekly Bonus Cash Drawings. Each drawing will award 40 prizes of $500 and 1 prize of $100,000.

How to Claim

  • Drawing results (winning 7-digit numbers) will be posted here the day after the drawing.
  • You can also check your ticket to see if you won at any NC Lottery retailer or ticket checker or on the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.
  • $500 prizes are redeemable at any NC Lottery retailer or NC Lottery regional office. $100,000 prizes must be claimed at NC Lottery headquarters.
  • Prizes must be claimed within 180 calendar days of the specified drawing.

Drawings

Entries generated by or before a specific entry deadline will only be included in the specified drawing. Entries generated after a designated entry deadline will only be entered into the next available drawing, if applicable. Results should be available the same day.

What is the Carolina Cash 5 Bonus Cash Promotion?
The Cash 5 Bonus Cash Promotion occurs from 5:00 a.m. Wednesday November 1 thru 2:00 am Friday December 1, 2023 giving Carolina Cash 5 players a chance to win extra prizes in four weekly drawings.
How do I qualify for that extra chance to win?
During the promotion, every time you spend $5 or more on a single Carolina Cash 5 ticket in a retail location you will receive a Bonus Cash Entry ticket. The seven-digit number on your Bonus Cash Entry ticket automatically will be entered into the next Cash 5 Bonus Cash Drawing.

Do all purchases of Cash 5 tickets get entries into the Bonus Cash Drawings?
No. Buying $5 or more on a single Cash 5 ticket is the only way to get a Bonus Cash Entry ticket.
If I get a Bonus Cash Entry ticket, what do I do to enter it in the next Bonus Cash drawings?
Nothing. If you get a Bonus Cash Entry ticket, you are automatically in the next Bonus Cash Drawing. It’s that easy. You will hear a “Free Ticket” message when your ticket is printed. A “Bonus Cash Entry” message will be printed on each entry ticket. Your Bonus Cash Entry ticket will be clearly marked and easy to identify. The Entry ticket has a seven-digit number that you will use to see if you won a $500 or a $100,000 prize.
What do I do with my Bonus Cash Entry ticket?
Keep it safe and use it to see if you won a prize in the next Cash 5 Bonus Cash drawing. You will need the Entry ticket to claim your prize if you win. Your ticket has your seven-digit entry number. If you don’t keep your Bonus Cash Entry ticket, you will not be able to see if you won or claim a prize. You must keep your Bonus Cash Entry ticket. It’s up to you to check your Entry ticket when you get it and keep it safe.
I play Cash 5 regularly. Can I get more than one entry into a Bonus Cash Drawing?
Yes. Every time you make a purchase of $5 or more on a single Cash 5 ticket you get a Bonus Cash Entry ticket for the next Bonus Cash drawing.
Drawings and Prizes
How many Bonus Cash Drawings will be held?
Four. One drawing will be held weekly for four weeks. The drawings are scheduled for Nov. 8, Nov. 15, Nov.22 and Dec 1.
How many drawings will I be entered into with my Bonus Cash Entry ticket?
One. Your Bonus Cash Entry ticket gets you one entry in the next drawing.
How will I know when the results are in?
Alerts will be posted on nclottery.com and on the lottery’s social media channels. But no worries. You have 180 days to claim a Bonus Cash Drawings prize.
What are the prizes in a Cash 5 Bonus Cash drawing?
Either a $500 or $100,000 prize. Each drawing will award 40 $500 prizes and one $100,000 prize. All winning entries are randomly drawn.
Could I win multiple times in a Bonus Cash Drawing?
Yes. Every time you make a $5 or higher purchase on a single Cash 5 ticket you get an Entry ticket. If you make multiple purchases, you will get multiple Entry tickets. With multiple entries, you could win more than once.
How can I find out if I won a prize?
It’s easy. Check results on the NC Education Lottery website or scan your Entry ticket at a lottery retail location or with your NC Lottery Official Mobile App on your smartphone. Each week after the drawing, the results will be posted here. You can check to see if the seven-digit number on your Entry ticket won a $100,000 prize or a $500 prize. You will not be notified if you won, only you will know if your Bonus Cash Entry ticket won a prize.
Where will I be able to claim my prize?
