It’s been a whirlwind year here at the lottery – especially for our players. Folks like you won more than 220 prizes of $100,000 or more in 2019. That includes over 45 wins from $1 million to $5 million, three $10 million wins, and North Carolina’s largest Powerball jackpot win of $344.6 million.

That’s a lot of good luck!

The best part of working at the lottery is meeting our winners. We get to share in your excitement and hear some incredible stories and be a part of life-changing moments. As we wrap up 2019 and look forward to a new decade of winning, we want to share our top 10 winner stories from this year.

It does my heart good to watch these people having their dreams come true. I have always thought that we could eliminate the current tax system with a national lottery and . But we have to be so careful that corruption be kept in check with a system like this.

Hi John. Here's a great video that explains how the BIG SPIN game works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3_Yc0b5jX8. All you have to do is get yourself a BIG SPIN scratch-off ticket. Then, you play it like a normal game. If you uncover a "SPIN" symbol that matches a winning number, you can go online to ncbigspin.com and spin the virtual wheel for a prize. If that virtual wheel lands on "BIG SPIN", then you get to come to Raleigh and spin the BIG SPIN wheel live for up to $500,000! Let us know if you have any other questions.

I hope NC draws much better numbers in the Pick 3 and Pick 4 in 2020. Some of us play the Pick 3 and 4 moreso than Scratch tickets or Cash 5. Give back to these players too. Stop bringing out those least played numbers .
