Ten scratch-off games are ending soon

It’s time to say good-bye to 10 of our scratch-off games. The games end Friday, Nov. 19. You’ll have 90 days afterward to claim any prizes you’ve won. The games are:

$20 ticket: Win $100 or $200
$10 tickets: Power 10s, $50 or $100 (#749)
$5 tickets: $250,000 Money Match, Black Diamond 7s
$2 tickets: Quick $100s, 7.11.21® LIVE!, Triple 333
$1 tickets: Lucky 7’s (#700), Double It!

All prizes must be claimed on or before Thursday, Feb. 17.

Claims between $600 and $99,999 must be made at one of the six regional claim centers before 5 p.m. that day. Claims of $100,000 or more must be made at lottery headquarters in Raleigh before 5 p.m. on that day as well.

Mail-in claims must be received within 90 days of the official end-of-game date. Remember, postmarks will not satisfy the 90-day requirement.

Remember, if these are some of your favorite games, you have two more weeks to play them.

Thanks NCEL. That explains it. Logically speaking though, it's crazy how NC residents are for sure entering 100s 1000s of tickets and win nothing but someone out of state who bought 1 or 2 tickets ends up being the winner. I just have a hard time accepting this. I feel like I'm wasting my time with entering tickets.NC Lottery

Only NC residents can set up a NC lottery account...so how can anyone who lives in another state participate in the second chance drawings? ??NC Lottery
Hi Cynthia! Anyone over 18 is able to make a NC Lottery account, regardless of if they reside or are presently located within the state. Thus, all with an account can enter Lucke-Rewards or Second Chance drawings with tickets purchased in NC. However, players must be physically located within NC borders to purchase tickets through Online Play. Hope this helps!

So I can purchase a scratch off, say in Virginia and if it's a second chance ticket, I can enter it in my NC lottery account? I'm just trying to understand.NC Lottery
Hi Cynthia! While out-of-state folks are welcome to create accounts on our site and earn Lucke-Rewards points or enter second chance drawings, they are only able to do so with tickets purchased in North Carolina. Hope this helps!

I was wondering why people are asking why people from other states can win second chance? First off i asked thee opposite , can a person from outside the state win because rarely do i ever see one. For those who think its unfair, our money is the same . If we pay and we enter we can win. I live here half the year , i was tempted to use my NC address so my chances are better

Hi Donnie, this is a great question! We'll have to reach out to our engineers to get a definitive answer, but if you are running the app on your Chromebook and there is a camera, the scanner should be able to function! If not, you will be able to enter tickets manually as you would do on a web browser. Hope this helps!

My phone is up to date as it always is and the app isn't working properly for me either. It takes a VERY long time to scan barcodes. There have been many complaints about this and all we are getting is a "thank you for letting us know". That isn't good enough. Please listen to the feedback and ACTUALLY APPLY IT!

Hi Jennifer. Great question. Folks from out of state are eligible to participate in our Lucke-Rewards program as long as the tickets were purchased while physically located in North Carolina. Good luck!

Thanks NCEL! What a pleasant surprise to find a new Ticket Scanner on my iPhone Mobile App this evening. It scanned almost all my Scratch Off Tickets quickly and accurately. Not so much the Draw Tickets but certainly many more than the prior version. Still not the best Mobile App Scanner ever - that was the one prior to the disastrous Update that made iOS 13 mandatory a month or two ago - but another step in the right direction. Here's hoping the progress continues!

Hi Cynthia! We welcome all that wish to create an account with us, even if they live out of state. While one must be located physically within NC's borders to purchase tickets through Online Play, those that are out-of-state are still able to enter tickets for Lucke-Rewards points or Second Chance draws. So while a majority of our players are NC players (and you can see this based on winner locations for these drawings), out-of-state players are always welcome to participate and have the same odds per entry as any other player. What a Ripoff I just played the 5 times keno and get free ticket 11 ti11 times in a row and all 11 free tickets were losing tickets as we're the keno numbers they were all 5 times and 10 times multipliers I bet that's why none of them were winners

Hi Joseph. Just follow the How To Win play instructions printed on each ticket to see if you are a winner. Tickets can also be checked using the NC Lottery ticket checker at each retail location or on a self-service vending machine, or by using the ticket checker on the NC Lottery mobile app.

The ticket scanner is awful, why change something that was working perfectly. The up and down bar doesn’t work for me and it takes longer to scan my tickets. Can they raise the limit to 100 entires or to no limit would be great.

Hi Vaneet, we understand your concerns! In a perfect world, we would release a new game and players would enjoy playing it and all of the prizes would be won before we end the game. Unfortunately that is not always the case. Sometimes games are no longer popular with our players or retailers simply aren't ordering them anymore, so it makes more sense to end a game and replace it with one that has more prizes available to be won. The app needs work. It does good on paper tickets, but is very slow,,,,weak on scratch offs. It was much better before the. update. Please pass on to the team.
