Powerball ticket purchased in Brunswick County wins $2 million prize

Wednesday’s Powerball drawing produced a $2 million prize for someone who bought a ticket at a convenience store in Brunswick County.

The lucky winner purchased the $3 Power Play ticket at the Circle K on Howe Street in Southport and will take home the largest prize nationally from the drawing.

The ticket matched the numbers on all five white balls, 33-46-52-59-62, to win $1 million. With the added Power Play feature, the prize doubled to $2 million when the 2X multiplier was drawn.

The drawing also produced a $100,000 win in North Carolina with a $3 ticket purchased through Online Play that matched four of the numbers on the white balls and the number of the Powerball to win $50,000. With the added Power Play feature, the prize doubled to $100,000 due to the 2X multiplier.

The two winners have 180 days from the drawing to claim their prize.

Since no one won Wednesday’s jackpot, the jackpot climbs to $150 million as an annuity prize or $107.6 million cash for Saturday’s drawing. Odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.

Players can buy Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location, through Online Play on the lottery’s website or by using the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.

First, here is a link to where you can put it your numbers and check them against recent Powerball drawings: https://nclottery.com/PowerballCheck. Second, here are the numbers from the most recent drawing, and also where you will find the prize payout for matching different numbers of balls: https://nclottery.com/Powerball. To see the numbers from past draws, just click the "Past Draws" link at the top of that website. You can also bring your ticket to a lottery retailer or a lottery vending machine where you can scan the bar code to determine if you were a winner. Good luck!

Hi Ricky, sorry about that. The app team is aware that some players are having this issue and they are working to resolve the problem now. In the meantime, some players have had success deleting and reinstalling the app. Also please make sure then you are installing the newest version of the app and have the newest version of the OS installed on your device. Now that the LFL is going to be drawn everyday now, 10 dollars a week I dont have, to go along with playing 20.00 dollars for cash5 double play for a five day draw. I only play my 2 picks on cash5 with double play, 4 dollars times 5 days drawing. Now I have to make a decision which game to play now. I don't play Pb, Mm, or pick 3 or 4.
