Wayne County woman celebrates $217,058 Fast Play jackpot win

Patricia Taylor of Pikeville took a chance on a $5 Fast Play ticket on Oct. 24 and won $217,058.

At the time Taylor purchased her 20X The Cash ticket from the Handy Mart on U.S. 70 West in Goldsboro, the Fast Play jackpot stood at $434,116. Since a $5 ticket receives 50 percent of the jackpot amount, she won $217,058.

She claimed her prize on Friday, and after required federal and state tax withholdings, took home $153,485.

The Fast Play rolling jackpot grows with every ticket purchased. On Monday morning, the jackpot had grown past $372,000. The odds of winning a Fast Play jackpot are 1 in 320,000.

State grants totaling $24 million, mostly from using money raised by the lottery, are helping Wayne County build a new elementary school. For details on other ways Wayne County benefits from lottery funds, visit www.nclottery.com and click on the “Impact” section.

What happened to the website??? The Powerball is still stuck on Mondays drawing and we don’t know what the winning numbers are. Same with the app.NC Lottery

How many times has the app been updated since it first appeared? I know it's been at least 5 times since I first downloaded it. It seems like every time it's updated or there's a new version something goes wrong. The biggest issue I have is the invalid ticket message when using ticket checker. Also the 75 ticket per-day entry limit is ridiculous. My entering more than the limit does not prevent other players from entering their tickets. I would also like to see changes made with the Lucke Rewards games. I know everyone can't be a winner, but when one person wins 9 times that is rigged, not random.NC Lottery
Hey, Charles! We want to do everything we can to help our players Play Smart, which is why we have a limit to the number of tickets a player can enter into their Lucke-Rewards account each day. And for Lucke-Rewards drawings, all entries have equal odds of being selected in each drawing, regardless of past wins - it just takes a whole lot of luck!

Second day in a row I CAN'T ENTER ANY TICKETS or anything else. Under my user name is nothing but SPINNING CIRCLES , for EVERY FUNCTION. MAYBE you guys need some extra advice in the information tech. department.NC Lottery

While we strive for simplicity and making our players' experience as easy as possible, we also have security measures in place, such as signing in prior to scanning tickets to earn Lucke-Rewards points and second chance entries, to help keep your account, Lucke-Rewards points, and entries secure. :)
