New Bonus Cash Drawings provide extra chances to win

If you play Carolina Cash 5 in January, you could get some extra chances to win prizes of $500 or even $100,000 in one of our weekly drawings in the Cash 5 Bonus Cash Drawings promotion.

Starting Jan. 2 and running through Jan. 29, every time you spend $5 or more on a single Carolina Cash 5 ticket at a lottery retail store you will receive a Bonus Cash Entry ticket. The seven-digit number on your Bonus Cash Entry ticket will automatically be entered into the next Cash 5 Bonus Cash Drawing.

Four weekly Bonus Cash Drawings will be held midday on Mondays. The drawings are scheduled for:

Jan. 9
Jan. 16
Jan. 23
Jan. 30

Each drawing will award 40 prizes of $500 and one prizes of $100,000.

Winning Bonus Cash Entry numbers will be posted on nclottery.com once available. Entry tickets may also be checked at any lottery ticket checker once the results are posted.

You could win first on your Cash 5 ticket, then win again in the Bonus Cash Drawing. That’s why it’s called Bonus Cash.

Your Bonus Cash Entry ticket must be presented to claim your prize. It’s important to keep it safe, so take a moment to check your Entry ticket and put it away for safekeeping.

If you win, use your Entry ticket to claim your prize at any lottery retailer or a lottery claim center. If you win a $100,000 prize, you’ll need to bring your Entry ticket to lottery headquarters in Raleigh to claim that prize.

Hi Heather, in that case you would get one Bonus Entry. If you did split it up into two purchases of $5 or more, you would get two entries.

Thomas W, I usually buy just one or two tickets, and don't play often. However, I do win! If you buy several tickets in a row, this doesn't guarantee that you will get a winner. Winning tickets are distributed randomly, and there is no way to figure out where and when the winner will show up. There can be two or three winning tickets in a row or several non-winning ones in a row. It is just luck and nothing else. Don't buy more tickets than you can afford and treat it like a fun game.

Lottery people, You are scamming us! I play every day! Play the same tickets, and it is a minimum of 10 in a row almost EVERY time for $10.00 tickets or $5.
