Did you win Bonus Cash?

The second Cash 5 Bonus Cash drawing occurred Monday and if you were a winner you can now collect your prize.

This January promotion gives you extra chances to win prizes of $500 or even $100,000. Through Jan. 29, every time you spend $5 or more on a single Carolina Cash 5 ticket at a lottery retail store you will receive a Bonus Cash Entry ticket. The seven-digit number on your Bonus Cash Entry ticket will automatically be entered into the next Cash 5 Bonus Cash Drawing.

Each drawing awards 40 prizes of $500 and one prize of $100,000. Here’s how to find out if won.

Use your Entry Ticket to see if you won at ticket checkers at lottery retail stores.
Check to see if your Entry Ticket is a winner on the Cash 5 Bonus Cash web page. You can enter your Entry Ticket number in the search box to see if you won. Or look for the winning numbers posted on the web page to see if your Entry Ticket was a winner.

Your Bonus Cash Entry ticket must be presented to claim your prize. If you won $500, you can claim your prize at your favorite lottery retail store. If you won the $100,000 prize, you’ll need to bring your Entry Ticket to lottery headquarters in Raleigh to claim that prize.

On Friday, a Charlotte woman collected her $100,000 prize from the first drawing. We look forward to meeting the second winner soon.

Two more Bonus Cash Drawings will be held. The drawings are scheduled at midday on Mondays for:

Jan. 23
Jan. 30

If you click on your username in the top right corner of our desktop site, you can click "Second Chance Draw History" to see your second chance entries, or "Lucke-Rewards Draw History" to see a history of your Lucke-Rewards points, and it will also show how many points and entries you have for each above the buttons.

Hi, Berry! Lucke-Rewards and second chance drawings are conducted using a secure Random Number Generator (RNG). Every entry is given a numerical value and the RNG randomly selects the winner. Every entry has the same odds of being a lucky winner - it just takes a whole lot of luck!

Great question, Michael! Unfortunately, we wouldn't know where these winners are located - prizes under $600 can be claimed at any lottery retailer without filling out a claims form, and only wins of over $5,000 are public information, so we aren't able to share where these winners were.

Nope! Some people keep winning over and over. No one is that lucky. I had 30 tickets and again nothing. I think it is time to leave the NCEL alone and put my money in a jar!

Hi, Tiffany! All of the winning numbers are posted on the "Check Numbers" page (you can see it if you scroll down) - the search feature just makes it easier for our players to locate their numbers and see if they've won.

NCEL bringing trips using fireball won't work. Too many players see that strategy in NC. Players will just play les s or buy more stratchers. Besides other states have fireball and still have trips dropping through out the year. NCEL they see you.

Yes, the January 16th drawing was the 2nd drawing of this promotion - the draw number of 0006 is counting drawings from a previous Bonus Cash promotion, but it has no impact on the drawings for this one - you can just ignore that number and just make sure the date on your ticket matches the drawing date!
