North Carolina’s teachers and staff are the backbone of our schools. On Wednesday, we celebrated with more than 60 esteemed educators and their administrators at the Educator of the Week luncheon hosted with FOX8 WGHP in High Point.
Educators received crystal apples, took home some fun lottery swag, and even had a shot at winning $50 gift cards in fun drawings. They also got a behind-the-scenes look of the studio and met longtime anchor Cindy Farmer, who helps tell their stories on air.
The North Carolina Education Lottery is proud to support the WGHP "Educator of the Week" program and similar programs like "Thanks to Teachers" at WLOS-TV in Asheville and "Teacher of the Week" at WITN-TV in Greenville and WRAL in Raleigh.
During the school year, these programs create heartfelt stories each week about exceptional teachers and educators.
Congratulations to our honorees and thank you for moving our students forward in your classrooms and beyond.
