It’s almost time for 2023, but let’s take one last moment to look back and celebrate 22 memorable wins from 2022. With so many awesome wins, it sure was difficult picking just 22.

3. A retired teacher from Fayetteville used the same lucky numbers ever since the lottery came to North Carolina and it paid off with $264,419 Cash 5 jackpot.
4. Four consecutive Cash 5 drawings had a jackpot winner for the first time ever. The wins occurred in Goldsboro, Southern Pines, Jacksonville, Asheboro and Sophia.
5. A winning lottery ticket that was lost for over five months resurfaced just before expiration so that an Alamance County woman could claim her $532,234 Cash 5 jackpot.
6. A dream of opening a seafood market can come true for a Durham man after he won a $235,489 Cash 5 jackpot.
7. A Wake County veteran planned to surprise his wife with an anniversary gift after a $100,000 Millionaire Maker scratch-off win.
Spring successes
8. A UNC Wilmington student played the lottery for the first time ever on her 19th birthday and won a $100,000 prize on a 100X The Cash ticket.
9. A Fayetteville dad said he will take his daughter to Disney World after $100,000 Powerball win.
10. A Vance County truck driver stopped at a rest stop and won $2 million on a 100X The Cash scratch-off: “once-in-a-lifetime type of thing,” he said.
11. A Mecklenburg County man won the 100th overall Fast Play jackpot in July. Since the game began, someone has won a jackpot about once a week.
12. A group of eight players who work together at FedEx shared a $2 million Powerball prize.
13. A school bus driver from Nash County won $100,000 and a Corvette Stingray in a second-chance drawing in April.
