Powerball and Mega Millions offer over $800 million total in jackpots

North Carolinians can play this week for jackpots in the Powerball and Mega Millions games that total $830 million combined.

Tonight’s Powerball jackpot stands at a $435 million annuity that is worth $204.8 million in cash. Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot stands at a $395 million annuity that is worth $188.2 million in cash.

Although the two jackpots remain up for grabs, players continue to win other nice prizes in the drawings. Check out these wins from Monday’s Powerball drawing:

A lucky $3 Power Play ticket purchased at the Circle K on Simmons Street in New Bern won $150,000
A lucky $2 ticket purchased using Online Play in Creedmoor won $50,000

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million. The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302 million.

Players can buy Powerball or Mega Millions tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com.

My daughter scan her tickets with her phone, it says winner, but don't give the amount of money she won. We looked at the ticket over and over, we don't see any winnings amount on it. What up with that? NC Lottery
Hello Roger, if your scan is showing as a winner, I suggest taking it to your nearby retail store for further verification. There could be something that might have been overlooked, and it's worth finding out.

be careful playing. NC just introduced Online play and odds don't match. At this point honestly they are just trying to get more money and so they can build more schools. As a statistical profession I tried this theory out with scratch of tickets, I bought roughly $1000 worth of tickets, none were winners. I understand why so many are angry, but sadly NC Educational Lottery only cares about funding schools then struggling poor peopleNC Lottery
