We’re a few days into the new Lucke-Rewards and Online Play experience, and we wanted to take a minute and answer some of the most common questions that you’ve had.

We also want to assure you, that we’re listening to all of your comments and concerns, and are working with our developers to fix problems you’ve told us about. For example, if you were having trouble with the ticket scanner in the iOS app, just update in the App Store to fix that!

Why does my account automatically log me out?

One of our primary concerns is to keep your private information safe. This means that your account will automatically sign out if you don’t use it for approximately 15 minutes. This is a measure that will help protect your information.

What’s the Cash Match Bonus?

The Cash Match Bonus is a way for us to say thank you for trying Online Play. When you make your first deposit in your wallet, we’ll match 50% of it up to $100. So for example, if you deposit $50 then you’ll get $25 in bonus cash for a total balance of $75.

We’ve also made it easier for you to fund your online wallet. Over the years, many of you have asked for the option to fund your accounts with PayPal. That’s now possible, as long as your PayPal account is linked to a debit card or bank account.

How do I build my Online Play ticket? 

When you build your Online Play ticket, you can customize the number of tickets, draws and numbers. To make it more convenient for you, we’ve added some new features. When you click on a game to buy a ticket, a pop up box will appear. It gives you the option to get a Quick Pick or to build your own numbers. 

In the Quick Pick section, you’ll notice three Quick Buy options that vary by gams, such as four tickets, eight tickets, or 12 tickets for Powerball. These are the most common purchase amounts per game and make it easy for you to just click and get the tickets you want.

If you want a different amount or would like to pick your own numbers, all you have to do is click on “Build My Own” and then adjust the quantity and numbers on the next screen.  

After you build your ticket, you have the option to save it as a favorite purchase.  This means you don’t have to rebuild your ticket the next time you want to play.

We’ve also added a new feature that allows you to combo your numbers. It will give you a set of tickets that uses every possible combination of your favorite numbers.

How do I know if my Online Play ticket won?

It’s exciting to win a prize, and we want to make sure you get the news that you’re a winner as soon as possible. Instead of having to go to a message center to find out if you won, you’ll get a notification the moment you sign into your account. If you have a winning ticket, you’ll see a pop-up screen telling you that you’re a winner. You’ll also receive an email informing you of the good news.

How do I claim my Online Play prize?

We want to make sure you can enjoy your win as soon as possible, so we also made it easier for you to claim an Online Play prize.

  • Prizes under $600 will be deposited directly into your wallet.
  • Prizes between $600 and $99,999 can be claimed online. There’s no need to go into a claim center.
  • If you’re a big winner with a prize of $100,000 or more, you need to start your claim online and then head on down to lottery headquarters in Raleigh.

We’ve already had our first Online Play winner with the new system. They won a $1,000 Mega Millions prize. The winner was able to claim his prize online. He got his winnings deposited into his account within two hours and there was no need to go to a claim center.

How can I view a list of winners?

It’s exciting to see who won, and you still can. Winners of draw and scratch-off games are still in the win section of the website.

Winners of Lucke-Rewards and Second Chance Drawings are in a new location. Winners are now listed on the individual drawing details page instead of in one long list.

For winners of Lucke-Rewards drawings, click on the Lucke-Rewards option in the main menu and select Lucke-Rewards Draws. At the top of the page, there is a button for Past Drawings & Winners that will take you to a screen where you can choose a drawing and see who won.

To view Second Chance winners, click on the 2nd Chance Draws option from the drop down. Select the drawing you want to see. On the details screen, select the round of the draw that you want to view and then click on winners. 

We are here to walk you through any difficulties you might have. If you have questions about Online Play, Loyalty, or the mobile app call 1-866-934-0289 and someone will be there to help you. You can also try the new chat feature on the website wherever you see the chat icon, including on the Help page.

Head to your player dashboard (blue dropdown menu on top right hand side of screen), then click on "My Account", then click on "Upcoming Purchased Draws". You should be able to see it in there.

Thanks for coming back to us on this topic. This is actually a feature that didn't transfer over to our new website. Unfortunately you will have to tally your points up manually. We're hoping to get that feature added back in the future!

Hi there Dexter, Once you have scratched your ticket that has a second-chance drawing associated with it, you can log into your account and scan or enter it to collect your Lucke-Rewards points. By doing that, you will be automatically entered into the second-chance drawing for that game. let us know if you have any other questions!

Hi Julia. You can log out of the website by clicking your username in the upper right and then selecting "Sign Out" at the bottom of that menu. If you click on your username and aren't seeing the option to log out, please hit CTRL and - on your keyboard, as your screen is probably too zoomed in to see the option. Hope this helps!

Hi there Ed, You ask a great question. Right now our ticket checker and our ticket entry scanners serve two different functions don't have the capability to be combined at this time. With our new app, toggling back and forth between the ticket checker and the ticket entry scanners is easier than ever!

I can not find where a running total of entry points are for the weekly/monthly drawings. I can see my second chance entry totals. I have seen this problem noted in other comments/questions and you reply to go to the dashboard. I only see individual entries there but I have no idea what my total entries are for each contest. Kim T,myself,and 46,000 other people keep asking where is the total amount cumulative of the lucke rewards entries (not second chance). It is not where you say they are. It only shows how many entries were entered on any given day. Last week i wrote mine down on a piece of paper to keep track. For example on the 100.00 drawing per week (i made 13 last week over 3 different days) shows the day and amount of entries i made but nowhere can i find a running total. My apologies if i have misunderstood or didn't understand your reply on this matter. NC Lottery
Hi Jim, you are right.This is a feature that unfortunately didn't transfer over from our old website.In your player dashboard right above where it says "My Account", you should be able to check your individual entries for Lucke Rewards, but unfortantely not your total cumulative entries.To obtain your total, you'll just have to do a little math :)

Once you're there, click on whichever scratch-off game you're interested in, and once you land on the page specific to that game you should be able to see all the available prizes listed on the right hand side of the page. Hi Donna, thanks for your feedback. The minimum requirements for funding and purchasing are a direct result of transaction fees. Like all e-commerce purchases, there is a cost involved. To off-set that cost and ensure we are meeting our mission in raising money for education, we increased the minimum funding and purchasing requirements for buying online.

Many times when I cash out a ticket the prize is higher than I expected. I’ve come to rely on the prize monitor display to show the amount of my prize won. The problem is...many retailers do not have the display in a location visible to the ticket redeemer. Hi there Robert. We think that the new Auto Renew feature will be perfect for what you need. All you have to do is hit "Auto Renew" when you are setting up your purchase. This feature will set you up so that you never miss a draw.

Hi there Eva, Once you log into the app, you should see a circular blue button on the sfreen. That will open the ticket checker and scanner to collect points. Just make sure you have enabled camera access in your phone's settings and that you are using the most recent version of the app. Good luck!

Once you have scratched the ticket, you can log into your account and scan or enter it to collect your Lucke-Rewards points. By doing that, you will be automatically entered into the holiday second-chance drawing. Good luck!

Thanks for your question, Mary. In short, no. Like all e-commerce purchases, there is a cost involved. To off-set that cost and ensure we are meeting our mission in raising money for education, we increased the minimum funding and purchasing requirements for buying online. However, we know folks enjoy playing the lottery as a form of entertainment, and many folks set a budget and prefer to buy only one draw at a time. That is why you can still go to any retailer and purchase your tickets with no minimum requirements.

I asked the other day about the "$4 Login Bonuses" I was seeing still "Pending", without getting an answer, then I emailed about them, still with no answer. Now on the "Bonus Activity" page it says "No Bonus" where it said "Login Bonus" before. Just what the heck is going on??? My screen shows seven (7) days worth of $4 bonuses (=$28!!), I cannot find anything on your site about them, and now it looks like maybe they were a mistake??? NC Lottery
Hi Cherylyn, The only login bonus we have active would be for extra Lucke-Rewards points. We also have a promotion right now where folks will get a 50% match on their first deposit for Online Play. We understand your concern, that is why we set the lowest limit possible to take into account the transaction fees and only as a requirement for e-commerce transactions through our Online Portal. We know folks enjoy playing the lottery as a form of entertainment, and many folks set a budget and prefer to buy only one draw at a time and we would never want our players to spend more than they can afford on lottery games. That is why you can still go to any retailer and purchase your tickets with no minimum requirements.

New system is pretty slick if a bit overdone. TWO observations: 1. Why a $5 minimum? It squelches little spontaneous purchases and, really, you already have our cash on hand (and earning you interest, no doubt). How much does it cost you to record a $1 vs $50 play? 2. I miss 'extend play'. It was a simple way to extend open tickets without all the autoplay and fav options. Those new options are fine but I would like the extend play button to be put back in. You can certainly add the Power Play and Megaplier on the new site! The option to add a multiplier is now on the screen after you make your number selection. If you click "add to cart" the next screen gives the PowerPlay or Megaplier choice.

Players who signed in for the first time on the new platform should receive 100 bonus points for signing in the first time and 100 points for upgrading their account. There are also new ways to earn points with surveys, games and even a referral bonus!

We can help! Just sign into the app and click on the circular blue button in the lower right corner. That will open the ticket checker and scanner to collect points. ***THOUGHTS*** REF: "The $5.00 minimum was put in place to offset Transaction Fees." If we’re depositing $20, $30, $50 dollars chunks or using winnings already in our accounts, how is that offsetting any transaction fees when there are NO TRANSACTIONS? I could understand if users were depositing $1 or $2 at a time to play... But if the account is full of money, the fee is unwarranted. Please let us make the decisions on how much we would like to lose. If a customer deposits less than $5.00 then show them a message that they will be charged a transaction fee unless the deposit is above $5.00 or even $10. But once the money has been deposited, there is no more Bank Transactions. Hit the small deposits, not the small purchases for those of us who already have money sitting in your bank. Customers should be happy customers. Happy customers return. Thank You.

Well thank you Tony T. I am a programmer by trade. Yes in chrome everything is hidden under the Advance link. I had that typed in but this messaging system only allows 1024 characters. That was about half of what I had typed up to post. It also removes paragraphs and puts everything in one big clump. Good Luck!

The yellow screen went away by clearing History and Website data, thanks! On another note, the scanner is working so much faster now when scanning to earn Rewards. Please bring back the feature that enables us to see how many entries we have for the monthly and weekly drawings. Something similar to what is in the 2nd Chance Drawings that we can see the number of entries at a glance. Also not a fan of the minimum amount of tickets you must purchase for online play. He sent me an email with a two page form which indicates requirements for providing my SS number and certification of this certificate by a notary. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Now I know Governor Roy Cooper and his Democratic operatives are involved. There is no need for such information unless the "STATE" is collecting private data on its citizens. Goodbye NCEL. Apparently this app was not tested before launching. Checked a Cash 5 ticket won a dollar, checked the same ticket again won 5 dollars, checked it again and the site froze up and couldn’t even sign out. Not surprising the North Carolina would launch something that apparently has not been tested fully. ***ATTENTION EVERYONE*** For those of you that are having trouble with this site bouncing you back to the home page or, seeing continuously spinning wait animations in the BLUE menu after you've logged in, Here is a fix for Chrome and Firefox. Add two sites in Chrome: Go to Settings, Site Settings, Cookies and Site Data... at the bottom under "Allow" click ADD & type in [*.]gamesrv1.com then click ADD to save. Again Under "Allow" click ADD again and type in the following: [*.]nclottery.com and click the ADD button to save. Re-login to NCLottery.com, DONE. -------- In Firefox. Load NCLottery webpage, look up in the left of the address bar and you see a little shield icon. Click that and at the top of the opening window you see "Enhanced tracking protecting is on for this site". Click that slider button to DISABLE this for this site. I do get a kick out of reading these comments but I must say the (helps cover our transaction fees) is pure nonsense! The most NCEL would pay is 3.0% of the dollar amount and NCEL would be crazy to pay that %. Your % with the volume you do is probably around 1.5%. That's 7 cents per each 5.00. You pay the retailer 35 cents to sell the ticket for crying out loud. Solution-don't charge the fee and suck it up as a tax write off or subtract it from the grand total paid out on that pool's prize amount. It's called the price of doing business! With my internet business I even pay the 7.5% sales tax on purchases. Good business sense and the volume sure has increased!

Hi Ronald, Was it a Pick 3 or Pick 4 ticket that you scanned? Since tickets for those games can be cancelled, they will initially be input into your account as "PENDING". Once the draw passes, your points will be processed and added to your account. Please allow a few days for that to take place. You can view all of this information in your Points History. Once you have made your selections for which games you would like to purchase, you need to select the cart icon to the left of your username (top right of your screen). That's how you check out. You can sign out by selecting your username at the top right corner and selecting "sign out" at the bottom of the drop down menu.

Also the scanning tool is worse then the old app.also you have to go to account to see if you won or not instead of just loging in and seeing it on tickets and messaging . I know all new systems are buggy, but some more testing should have been done before implementing this. Why did you change it to $5 minimum per game? I was going to spend $6. $4 on one and $2 on another... but due to the new rule, it wouldn't let me put any tickets in the cart so you're not getting any money from me this week. I wanted to check my balance so that I can figure out if it's worth withdrawing everything and scrapping the online experience... but can't even get to that (the spinning wheels instead). Hopefully, things will smooth out soon and I am REALLY not happy about the $5 minimum.

A simple word of advice: REBOOT! Before you lose money! Go back to the previous version but perhaps update security. However, do away with the ridiculous 15-mi ute time limit. Allow someone to stay logged in. I don't purchase from you online anyway and you don't have my banking info so what difference does it make? If you click "Buy" for Cash 5 and then select the $6 ticket option on the first pop-up, that will take you to a screen where you can choose our new "Auto-Renew" feature. Just hit the toggle switch where it says "Auto-Renew" and then you can change your preferences to be 1 ticket per day, 7 days a week. Then, if you hit "Edit Numbers" to the right of the ticket quantity, you can then edit your numbers in the next screen. Hope this helps.

I purposely used up just about all my points because of this upcoming 'Update ".I went to enter a Cash 5 ticket just now and nothing happened ... it just sat there . Now I find out that somehow I have an online (Wallet) account , which I never applied for .As far as I'm concerned , I am done . Once I find out how to delete that online account and get rid of my info for Lucky Rewards I will not enter any more tickets .It's not worth the aggravation. This whole new website is a total FUBAR !NC Lottery

@ Alicia D. I had the same problem when trying to log on to the lottery after the update. I don't know what browser you are using but I was able to log on after I went to the privacy and security section of my browser(Mozilla Firefox)and deleted all the cookies for the lottery website and cleared my cache. I was then able to log on and use the new features. The browser will set new cookies. I hope this helps you.

I can login. verified my Id, comment, check my points via clicking on my account. Website looks fine and appears to be working fine. What I can't do is enter tickets for points or redeem points. The little wheel just keeps spinning, No matter how I try, and I think I am pretty savvy when it comes to navigating a website. With that being said I am very reluctant to fund my online wallet. I do not do anything like that with my cell phone. NC Lottery

Hi Prentice, We released an update to the iOS app last night to fix a few bugs. First, please check to make sure you have the most updated version of the app running. Once you've updated and logged in, you should see a circular blue button floating in the lower right of your screen. If you tap on that, the ticket checker will open up. You can then use the toggle button at the bottom of your screen to change between checking tickets and entering them for Lucke-Rewards. Hope this helps!

Well all ,righty I like it! LZ, here is the 411 on my end. APP is working fine today. Got my 250 pts for logging in for 1st time even though I logged in several times b4. I can scan & manually enter scratch offs & check for winners. it takes my C5 tickets, but will not except LF, don't know about the other draw tickets. Scanner is touchy, but once players realize you don't have to push any thing just hold and focus, it will scan automatically. I think it will take some time for people to learn how to scan. Just toggle over from ticket checker to lucke rewards was found by accident on my part. I was also able to redeem points for drawings. 2nd chance tics were auto entered into drawings.NC Lottery
