What does $200,000 a year for life really mean?

It’s no shock to us that players often ask what “for life” means when it comes to lottery games that have prizes that are paid “for life.” Since we just introduced the $200,000 a year for life game on January 25, we figured now would be the perfect time to answer that question.

Ten weeks after forming a group to play Powerball, 21 employees of the Surry-Yadkin Electric Membership Corporation came up with five white balls but not the Power Ball in the Dec. 4 drawing, winning $200,000!

SHS Treasure Hunters

A group of 15 teachers from Swansboro High School, known as the “SHS Treasure Hunters,” claimed a Powerball ticket worth $200,000 on the day before Thanksgiving 2009.
